From Hidalgo, Mexico to New York City

A Family's Journey. A City's Carnitas.

Taqueria Milear was born from the kitchens of Hidalgo, Mexico, where the Milear family has spent generations mastering the art of carnitas. Today, at 752 Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn, that same fire burns. Family-owned and operated, every plate we serve carries the flavor of home.

The Carnitas Capital of Mexico.

The Hidalgo Tradition

In the state of Hidalgo, carnitas is not a dish — it is a ceremony. Slow-cooked in lard over wood fire, seasoned by hand, and served by family. The Milear family grew up learning this craft not from a cookbook, but from grandmothers and market mornings. When we brought this tradition to Brooklyn, we brought it whole — nothing adapted, nothing diluted.

That is why Taqueria Milear is known as the House of Carnitas. Our recipe is the same one that fed our family in Hidalgo. It feeds yours now in Brooklyn.

Family-Owned & Operated

The People Behind Every Plate.

Taqueria Milear is not a franchise. It is not a concept. It is a family — the same family that left Hidalgo to share what they love most. Every taco, every order of carnitas, every catering spread is prepared by people who take pride in it personally. When you eat here, you are a guest in our home.

We are grateful for every neighbor, every regular, and every first-timer who walks through our door on Nostrand Ave. This restaurant exists because of this community, and we cook for it every single day.

Brooklyn, New York

Rooted at 752 Nostrand Ave.

Taqueria Milear opened on Nostrand Ave because this block deserved something real. Brooklyn gave our family a home, and we give Brooklyn our best every day. Our backyard has hosted hundreds of neighbors. Our carnitas have become part of this community's weekends. We are not just a restaurant — we are a corner of Hidalgo, right here in Crown Heights.
